CoreDNS CrashLoopBackoff on Lab 2.2

Hi all, following the instructions for lab step 2.2 - and continually getting a CrashLoopBackoff on CoreDNS

I'm running a macbook pro, using virtual box, and ubuntu 16.04 vms.
I keep getting the message "[FATAL] plugin/loop: Forwarding loop detected in "." zone."

Any idea how to handle that?

Resolved my own issue, but figured I'd post in case others see this. I used the hacky solution documented here
