Cannot get any job to print due to User Code rejection

Totally new to Linux. Using Mint 19.1. Have a networked Ricoh MP C3003. Downloaded and installed PPD file recommended by this site for that printer. Connected to the network printer successfully. I am the network admin and the printer admin with proper passwords. However, any print job, even the test pages, are automatically rejected by the printer because of lack of User Code verification. The jobs SAY they arrive- the "Data In" light flashes, but then they disappear from the job list and cannot be printed. I have tried to enable IPP Authentication in the MP C3003 (succeeded). I have tried CUPS (2.2.7 installed). I have configured the printer to send the proper user code for the account. I cannot print. Ideas?

Try to download the PPD file from here to install the driver, and then set the same User Code as the printer in the printer driver.
