unsure which linux distro will work best on my PC

Hi folks, I have a PC thats about 10 years old and am unsure which linux distro would work best on it. It is a Dell Dimension DV051, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80GHz and has only 512mb RAM, it is currently running Windows XP OS, and is farely slow at times. My Dad mainly uses it for movies and basic stuff like email etc. I've seen on other websites people mention Lubuntu and Arch for older machines but I am a noob to linux and haven't a clue lol. Any help is much appreciated.

Personally I would recommend Zorin 32 bit as you are able to make the whole thing to look like and feel like XP or windows 7, 2000 etc0
