local application core dump files on cent os 6.2_x64

Hi,

We have cent os 6.2 x86_64 server in which, we have observed that applications will run on the machine and will generate its core dump file in /local on the machine. We with to change this path of generating the application core dumps from /local to somewhere else. Which service is responsible for this default configuration and how to change this path.
