AFS mounting issues

Hi all,

Not sure whether this is the relevant sub-forum to post about this issue.

Specs: DELL XPS 15Z running a Scientific Linux Cern (Carbon)..close to RedHat Linux.

Was prompted to update kernel. After download, it seems system cannot boot without an internet connection (identified, no pass required, Ethernet cable for instance).

The issue seems to be related to mounting AFS and inability to access dynamically a certain server.

Copied from log messages while booting:

..(trying to connect to) www.openafs.org/dl/liscence10.html

Disabling lock debugging due to kernel taint

Enabling dynamically allocated vcaches

Starting AFS cache scan...found 5 non-empty cache files (0%)

Lost contact with volume location server ...in cell cern.ch (code -1)

Suggestions to resolve this anomaly will be highly appreciated.
