Installing linux on a laptop with no OS
Hi,
I have an old business laptop (Dell D820) that I would like to try linux on but the OS has been wiped (Ex government laptop).
Can I download linux on my windows laptop, copy it too a USB thumb drive and install it from there? If so how, and what is the most neebie friendly version of linux to install.
Thanks for any help/advise.

Put it on a CD or USB stick and then tell it to install on the HDD from there.
