trouble with USB camera sound
Hi guys!,
I am using an iball c8.0 http://www.iball.co.in/Product/Face2Face-C8-0--Rev-3-0-/90 on Raspbian(actually Raspbian Wheezy to be more specific).
My lsusb report is ,
lsusb
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 0424:9512 Standard Microsystems Corp.
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0424:ec00 Standard Microsystems Corp.
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0c45:6340 Microdia
I tried using motion software for motion detection and it is working fine. The problem is that I also want to use the inbuilt mic for audio input. The camera has a built in mic but I get the following error while recording.
arecord -B 120000 -D "hw:CARD=1,DEV=0" -r 25000 -c 2 -f S16_LE file_2ch.wav -v
Recording WAVE 'file_2ch.wav' : Signed 16 bit Little Endian, Rate 16000 Hz, Stereo
arecord: set_params:1087: Channels count non available
also my device description is as follows:
arecord -l
**** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices ****
card 1: Camera [USB 2.0 Camera], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
Also the camera is backward compatible with USB 1.1 (donno whether this information will be useful)
also,
cat /proc/asound/cards
