Repostories Fails to do update (Ubuntu 10.10)

I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 maverick, the Repositories fails to do the Automatic update nor the manual update

Error: Failed to download repository information

    Forgive me for being blunt, but your OS is just too old. Ubuntu Only supports LTS OS's for up to five years, and then they're done. The only thing that you can do is get the latest version of Ubuntu. If you have any more questions, just let me know.
