can embedded software still work after 2038 in a 32 bits platform? How?

Hello,

How many of we already know about the problem that can happen in 2038 with 32bits systems and many devices that were and are being developed with 32 bits platform, I would like to discuss about possible solutions to avoid this possible problem of year 2038.

A hundred thousands devices developed in a 32 bits platform should be working longer than 2038. A lot of embedded software were developed and should still be working after this date, and then what Linux developers are thinking to work around this possible problem without changing 32 bits platform? Change the epoch? Change from signed to unsigned data type (time_t) ??……

Best Regards
