duel Linux and windows 7 on my windows 7 computer

I have a windows 7 computer and i just got a second hard drive and a hard drive enclosure for it would works on my laptop it has 298 GB of free space on it i wont to use that hard drive for Linux but not the one build in my computer how do i do that and a download link for the Linux software wold be nice to.

    To install Ubuntu on your external drive, AND NOT YOUR IN-BUILT DRIVE, you need to select the "Something Else" Bubble on the "Allocate Drive Space" menu. Then, set up your partition, and select your external drive. After that, it's all gravy from there.

    it works great but i installed it on the wrong hard drive.

    That sounds like the bootloader is pointing to the wrong drive to find the Ubuntu boot partition, I was thinking that might happen. Can you attempt a re-installation and tell the boot option to boot on the first drive?
