My favorite games are First Person Shooters, so I will start with those.
Name: Sauerbraten
Site: http://sauerbraten.org/
Description: Fast paced online FPS, with many game modes.
Review: This is currently my favorite because it has a playable map edit mode and coop map edit via servers. The game itself is very fun, but seeing the combined ideas of other taking shape makes it most intriguing.
Name: Urban Terror
Site: http://www.urbanterror.info/home/
Description: Urban Combat style online FPS with player modes and unique features.
Review: This game has always been one of my favorites for online play with active servers and good gameplay and weapons. although the competition may be good, the experience is worth a few deaths.
Name : Alien Arena
Site: http://red.planetarena.org/
Description: Sci-fi alien themes online and SP FPS.
Review: This game may lack some of the heightened features of other FPS games, but the characters and weapons make it very fun.
Name: Xonotic
Site: http://www.xonotic.org/
Description: online FPS with many game modes and weapons.
Review: Although I just found this game it is highly addictive with the many game modes, weapons and other advancements.
Name: Epic Inventor
Site: http://epicinventor.com/
Description: A pixel graphics based RPG in which you are tasked with gathering resources to invent objects.
Review: This game may seem outdated, but the gameplay itself is highly addicting.
Name: Scorched3D
Site: http://www.scorched3d.co.uk/
Description: A tank game similar to the old artillery games of the past with updated 3d graphics, multiple enemies and an awesome array of weapons.
Review: You have to try it.
Name: Warzone 2100
Site: http://wz2100.net/
Description: A futuristic military strategy game.
Review: The gameplay is similar to the good old starcraft and warcrat games, but the ability to build custom vehicles and develop greater technology makes this game very addicting. This is by far my son's favorite game.
Name: PySolFC
Site: http://pysolfc.sourceforge.net/
Description: The greatest card game collection ever.
Review: This game has over 1000 different card games all build on a very well structured python library, if you like card or mahjong games you definitely have to check it out.
And I saved the best thing for last.
Name: Desura
Site: http://www.desura.com/
Description: Desura is a mutli-platform game distribution similar to steam, with notable collection of games available. This tool works as it's own package management system for games that is handles outside of your distro's package management scheme.
Review: Although there are some rough edges and some missing games, this tool has a lot of promise due to how it simplifies all actions and handles all action in user space without requirement administrative access. I highly recommend checking it out and asking for favorite game developers to port their games to Desura.0 -

Hi friend
i will share with you some of the best games on linux:
1.Capsized
description: This wonderful little platformer is very enjoyable. I really dig the atmosphere, sound, and feel of the game. It’s very straight forward and the gameplay has a generous mix of activities. You don’t merely shoot up aliens as you solve puzzles too. The story is pretty simple. A crew of astronauts find themselves in a world of trouble and are forced to evacuate their ship. Each one boards their own space pod and launch themselves onto a nearby planet. Scattered from your crew, you explore this strange place in search of survivors and a way to get off the hostile planet. The game art is really spot on and very consistent. Capsized’s style has a lot of flavor while keeping things simple and easy to read. The controls are fun and easy to manage, even on a keyboard. The environments and creatures are weird and sometimes creepy, but always entertaining.
2. SuperTuxKart
description: While it may be frustrating a few times during option changes, once you’re set up this game is extremely fun! There are several tracks that are very different to maneuver and many options that can completely change the way this game looks and plays. The tires leave skid-marks, so you can tell where cars are braking or spinning out. Depending upon settings, this game can be anything from a horrible to fantastic racing experience. But it’s not a bad game, just highly variable. Keep playing with it until you find the settings you like. Totally fun and very addicting![/url]
3. CodeRED : Alien Arena
description: In many ways I believe it can be called the best free FPS out there as Alien Arena is becoming the standard by which others are judged. It is already including features not yet implemented like ragdolls for example. The CRX engine is amazing. For those of you that have been playing games a long time, this will remind you of the old Quake Arena days. Also Alien Arena is “Doom” inspired, and it’s definitely got that “Unreal” feeling about it. It can be very addictive but in a good way. The IRC is fantastic as you get to meet some really great people there who are always willing to help. The Alien Arena forum is amazing. The response time to a question is really fast. Alien Arena seems to have what you people are looking for in a game, consistent fun!0
