Mouse issues in Ubuntu 9.10

So just finished install Ubuntu as a dual boot with WinXP and once the desktop has loaded up the mouse will work just fine for a little while then it just wont click it will move fine and the pointer will change when you move it over a text box etc but the buttons just fail to work. Has anyone else had this problem

can you attach a copy of your X config and the output of lsusb and "lshw | egrep 'usb:' -A12", and finally the last few lines of dmesg after it stops working?

Your X config is located in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
