Ubuntu vs. Kubuntu vs. Xubuntu

I have a fairly low power level laptop that i want to put windows on. I have narrowed down my choice of distros to Ubuntu, kubuntu, and Xubuntu. Which woukd be the best for my laptop? I have heard from onr of my classmates that Xubuntu is good for low power laptops...

I had a thinkpad with about 128mb of ram and Xubuntu ran awesome on it. It still couldn't handle swf's (youtube) on the internet but, it handled email and basic stuff perfectly.
  • Alright, but do any of them come with the drivers for Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN wireless chip? I really don't want to have to go through the trouble of having rip it from Windows, etc.

ı have one suggestion about your problem if you want.
    i think you should install #!crunchbanglinux .
it's based on ubuntu and it use openbox. In my opinion it will be good choice for you but may be it will be hard in first installation but openbox is very heavy desktop manager.
  • Manky thanks, but does it come with wifi drivers?

You could also use the Ubuntu Minimal cd and install lxde or gde.

    otherwise consider ubuntu-lite.
