Chapter 22 Switch back crypted swap

Hi all,

I did the excercise in a VM and everything was fine.

Now I try to switch back swap into uncryted status. But when I try $mkswap /dev/dm-1 my system tells me that it can't be opened because the device or ressource are reserved.

But actually there isn't a swap active.

Can somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong??

Thanks in advance

  • Hi Ilonka,

Did you deactivate the swap device, and used the luksClose operation with the cryptsetup command before trying to format the partition?
