2nd hdd is owned by root
Before installing mint mate 18 I replaced the hdd on my laptop with a 120gb ssd disk.
My current installation of linux and virtual box and the filesystem is working exceptionally well.
I then used an optical bay caddy to replace my dvd with the orginal 1tb hdd.
I mounted it in g parted and formated it in ext4
I could then mount and unmount it. But I couldn't use it because it was owned by root.
I have spent days trying to figure this out and now I cant even mount it anymore.
Is there any way to simply make my hdd mine and no longer owned by root by default. Say by using g-parted or any similar program? Or is this only possible by using terminal?
I have a porblem with using the terminal since I am not a computer programmer and I literaly have no clue about what Im doing and what Im suposed to write. I can only copy and paste. Anything else and theres problem.
And why is the new ssd owned by root by default?
I would be extermely happy if someone could help me to solve this. I need my 1tb hdd. since it's still not possible to make mint mate 18 stable with my external usb 1tb ssd. I installed programs and I used the terminal and it is still only barely working.
