Lab 4.1

Hi, i am having issues with starting fake_service from lab 4.1

I am running CentOS 6.6

I did everything correct in the script, copied the script provided by the lab and compared it for any errors. I am trying to run the script by doing service fake_service start (i am in root mode, that is why i didn't add sudo), and i get message....

Running fake service in start mode... /etc/init.d/fake_service: line 15: [: =: unary operator expected

What could be causing this? Any guesses?

Thanks in advance!

    1) did you also follow instructions and construct /etc/sysconfig/fake_service ?

    2) you could have a cut and paste error.  Depending on your platform (especially windows) sometimes characters like underscores are corrupted

    3) We don't test against RHEL 6.  The course (as well as cert exams) is constructed for RHEL 7.  I don't know what works or doesn't work with RHEL 6
