linux mint 18 kde & cinnamon

ivebeen having issues trying to load linuxmint-18-cinnamon-64bit off of a live dvd but have run into problems on 2 laptops so far 1st older dell vostro it booted up then after linux started it locked up with a bunch of tabs that said driver... 2nd i tried it on a dell studio and after like 10 minutes of what looked like it was starting it came back saying it couldn't find a live install portion on the disk?     plz help!@#$%%^&%*%(

    For the first part, sounds like the kernel is missing or can't load a particular driver to access some hardware. Were you able to boot your laptop to the live desktop using the boot CD? Second, did you properly burn the image to the disk? Issue like these can be contributed by a poorly burned image or a damaged image. 

    What site did you use to download linuxmint 18 64bit and what method was used to burn the image?
