Good Linux Distro

I want linux distro that is easy to use, and does not come with too much pre-installed software. I would perfer it to hove XFCE, Cinnamon, or MATE desktop environments, I would like to have a large repo, and be simple to install. I want it to be stable but still have fairly up to date software. Thank You

It is not an easy task to suggest a Linux distro that is "easy to use" since every computer user has their own system preferences. What is easy to me, may not be easy to you.

What are you planning to do with your system?

    • Are you web browsing only
    • development
    • entertainment
    • office work
    • server engineer
    • troubleshooting
    • hacking

These questions will narrow down the list of available Linux distros to those that fit the bill. I am a Debian/Ubuntu and CentOS user. For me, these distros work the way I like a system to work. The mainstream default versions come with a handful of pre-installed programs, yet programs you can remove. Lubuntu is good on low-end hardware and limits the number of pre-installed software. Makes the system look clean. Again, this is my opinion.

There are sites that list new and old Linux distros for technical uses. I would scan through those lists and find distros that offer a liveCD version which is the capability to test out new systems withouth installing them on your computer. From there, you decide which is easy for YOU to use.
