Text Editor-LFCS Exam

Hello,

I would like to know if nano /gedit would be available as Text Editors in the Ubuntu14.04 OS where i would be giving the exam!

I know that normally on a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.04 , they(nano, gedit) would be pre-installed, just wanted to know in the case of exam?!

Thanks and Regards

Abel

    Hi Abel,

I'm checking on this and I'll let you know as soon as possible. It would be good if you start using vi, vim or emacs, as in many servers (in the real world) they are the only available editors.

    Regards,

    Luis.

    Hi Abel,

Nano is installed by default and gedit is not. Gedit would not be useful anyway because you will work in a ssh terminal.

    Luis.

    Hi Abel,

I'm not sure, but if it's not installed, you can do it with 'sudo apt-get install vim'. Note that the distro uses vim instead vi.

    Regards,

    Luis.
