Linux DevOps Engineers needed for LA Entertainment Studio
One of LA's largest entertainment firms are looking for Senior System Engineers (for Internet Systems Tech) who live and breathe Linux!
The ideal canddiate will have extremely strong experience as a Linux administrator, at all levels of programming, down to kernel level. People will DevOps experience and Site Reliability Engineer experience is also highly preferred.
ore Responsibilities
1. Systems Engineering Support: 45%
• Maintain SPE IST Server Build Standard on all different supported distributions.
• Maintain server availability and server security.
• Perform scheduled SPE IST standard patch management activity on Operating Systems
• Perform installations and configurations of multiple Operating Systems
• Develop and maintain the automation of rapid server deployment and centralized management of servers.
• Develop performance management procedures for UNIX/Linux servers.
• Identify and develop an automation strategy for common end user requests (ie dns/apache automation).
• Manage and maintain system resources, globally, throughout the environment.
• Manage IT Staff relationships to insure service levels and availability of all servers.
• Manage outages, identify root cause and resolve all server issues within allowed service levels.
2. IT Operations Support: 45%
• Maintain the system inventory including physical and virtual managed OS.
• Install various software packages on platform.
• Maintain the system monitoring solutions as defined by senior staff members
• Maintain the host backup solutions as defined by senior staff members
• Manage outages, identify root cause and resolve all server issues within allowed service levels.
• Participate in the daily production meeting to report the status of production systems.
• Participate in the change control, production acceptance and event management processes.
• Participate in the development of operational procedures and policies.
• Identify, resolve and escalate business issues as appropriate.
• Manage after hours and on-call support.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Unix/Linux systems administrator.
- Minimum 3 years experience with Linux operating system required.
- Minimum 3 years experience with scripting or programming language (python,perl,c, etc).
- Minimum 1 years experience with multi-tiered application development required.
- Minimum 1 years experience with Virtualization OS (VMWare, Power VM, Oracle VM) required.
- Minimum 1 year experience with NAS/SAN administration.
- Understanding of MySQL, Oracle, and other Database platforms
- Working knowledge with other systems technologies (Windows, Network, SAN, NAS etc.) is a major plus.
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience preferred.
