what version of linux?

Options

Is there a version of Linux OS that will fit on a 750 MB CD-R disc. I downloaded a version of linux already, but it is 1.34 Gb and is to big to fit on the CD-R discs that I have. My Windows Vista OS is corrupt and now malfunctions while not in safe mode.

There is a lot of Linux Distributions.

And a lot of them fit on one CD. Today there is also possible to use USB drives and DVD so there is some releases with bigger size for to fit more on them.

Which distribution did you download? maybe they provide more than that ISO.

You can almost take any distro to find a CD. Ubuntu, Mint, Fedora, Debian etc.

Do you want a fully loaded distro or one that you customize your self?

You can download debian "stable" which is 650mb, customize yourself
linux mint 10, stable, 699mb CD, fully loaded
fedora 14, stable, 675mb cd, customize yourself
PClinuxOS gnome desktop, stable, 675mb CD, fully loaded

These are some of the distros that can fit on a cd. Check out www.distrowatch.com to get a listing of more.
