    Can you narrow down what "Can't get it to boot" means? What happens right before the point where you know something is wrong? Also, how about pasting your /boot/grub/grub.conf here so we can see what it looks like.
    su
    <password>
    cat /boot/grub/grub.conf

    Yes please give us all the information you can. There is a trick you can try.

    Boot the system with a LiveCD, go to a terminal, type:

    # sudo fdisk /dev/<id of your harddrive>, it could be /hda1 or /sda1. look at the full list of /sda. I'm guessing you are using sata drives.

    Once you find the drive with f14 installed, in fdisk, press "a" to toggle the boot flag, choose the preferred partition and press "w" to write the changes. Then restart your system.
