Hi folks,

I'm wondering if anyone in here has experience with running linux on the ultraSparc system? If so, how did it go?

    There are several Linux distributions that run well on Sparc systems, including Debian. A Google search on the terms "linux sparc" returns a number of good links.

    I've run Debian on a number of both Sparc 4m and Sparc 4u systems w/out any real trouble. the most "recent" spac I ran Debian on, however, was my old Ultra 10. So, I can't say with certainty that you will not have trouble on a Sun Blade, but I would imagine that things have only progressed, not regressed.

    I did also try the Aurora project (red hat for sparc) MANY years ago, but had settled on Debian. Actually, it was my experience w/ Debian on Sparc and VAX that made me go to Debian on x86.
