Software for synthesizing music

Hello!

I am currently searching for a software for creating music. It should contain synthesizers for several instruments, including piano, organ, any part of strings and, of course, drum kits. I allready found rosegarden via google, but the software is a bit to complex because I would have to configure it for several hours before I can even start creating some music :D So is there any other software fitting this purpose?

    Maybe someone here who has some experience with the difficulty levels of various synthesizer apps can give you more information, but, by just goggling "linux synthesizer software" there are pages of different apps that you can look at.

    As an ex-professional musician I'd also be interested in what answers we come up with here.
