Finally found a reliable IMAP/Office 365 migration utility that runs natively on Linux

I manage a mostly Linux-based infrastructure and have been struggling to find migration software that doesn't require spinning up a temporary Windows VM.

Most of the popular enterprise options are Windows-only executables. However, after testing a few scripts and Java-based options, I managed to get a full migration running directly on Ubuntu using a tool that specifically supports a generic Linux startup script (startup.sh).

For those of you looking for the Best Email Migration tool that actually supports the Linux ecosystem, this one handles:

Source/Destination mapping via CSV.

Delta migration (skipping duplicates).

Concurrent mailbox transfers.

It requires JRE to be installed, but otherwise, it’s a smooth process compared to using Wine or a VM.

Has anyone else here successfully migrated an Office 365 tenant using only Linux-native tools?

    If you need a reliable IMAP or Office 365 migration utility on Linux, check the platform support first because many desktop migration tools are Windows-only.     For example, when moving mailboxes from IMAP to Microsoft 365, you can connect the source and destination accounts, choose the mailbox data you want to move, and migrate emails with attachments rather than exporting everything to local files first.     I’d use the same approach for Gmail, Yahoo, Google Workspace, or another IMAP-enabled account, depending on the migration route. For a large mailbox move, I’d test one account first and check folders, attachments, and recent messages before starting the rest.
