LFS258: Hosted Lab Environment Now Live (2/12/2026)
Hi,
Over the past several months, the Linux Foundation Education Team has been focused on enhancing your learning experience. Today, we are excited to announce the launch of an integrated, in-browser, hosted lab environment. This feature allows you to complete hands-on exercises directly in your browser, regardless of your operating system, at no additional cost.
For those who prefer to use private infrastructure, you can still complete labs in your personal environment (via public cloud, virtualization, or bare metal) using the downloadable PDF instructions provided in each chapter.
We appreciate your patience as we worked to upgrade this course. Happy learning!
Flavia

I'm seeing issues launching the lab.

Hi @anudeep404
We have tested the lab provisioning and deployment and everything works as expected. Is there a firewall in place on your end that may prevent the lab deployment?

I bought the LFS258 + Exam package and I only see instructions in the training for setting up my own lab. I would like to use the lab that has already been provisioned for the course, but I can't find the instructions for how to access that lab.

Hi @balkire
The course offers both lab pdfs in case you want to provision your own infrastructure and practice more, as well as a hosted lab environment. Hands-on labs start in Chapter 3. First the pdf followed by pages that allow you to launch the lab environment.

Flavia
