An issue with Ricoh PS PPD files

Dear Ricoh support team,

Ricoh PPD files such as "Generic_PS_Printer.ppd" and "Ricoh-IM_C6010-Postscript-Ricoh.ppd" have the following description:

*FoomaticRIPTitleEntityMaxLength: 40

"FoomaticRIPTitleEntityMaxLength” is used to limit the length of "&title".
In these PS PPD files, "&title" appears 5 times.
1 time for the job/document title:

%%%%Title: (&title;)

And 1 time each in the definition of the 4 job types below:

  • Hold Print
  • Stored Print
  • Store and Print
  • Document Server

/JobID (&title;)\n&&

However, Ricoh devices do not accept a JobID which is more than 20 characters. When a print job contains a JobID of 21 or more characters, the job is cancelled by the printer.
Could you please modify the PS PPD files which have "*FoomaticRIPTitleEntityMaxLength: 40"?
Of course we can modify it manually, but we cannot ask our customers to do so every time they download the PPDs.

Best regards,

    Dear kazusricoheurope,

Regarding the Linux driver, please be informed that support for it has already ended. As part of our current design policy, we do not plan to update or re-release the driver that has already been uploaded.

We kindly ask customers to download the PPD file and manually apply the necessary modifications before use.
For reference, you may also check the following link. The specific modifications required are described in the attached file.
