Inquiry on KCNA and KCSA Exam Format and Study Resources

Hi,

I have recently purchased the Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate (KCNA) and Kubernetes and Cloud Native Security Associate (KCSA) exams. Could you please confirm if these exams consist only of multiple-choice/multiple-selection questions, or if they also include performance-based (hands-on) tasks?

Additionally, I would greatly appreciate it if you could recommend any study materials, tutorials, or books to help me prepare effectively for these certifications.

Thank you in advance for your guidance and suggestions.

Best regards,

Kaushal

Hi, I took KCNA and KCSA exams a few months ago, both are multiple-choice and multiple-selection only. Unlike CKA, CKAD, or CKS, they don’t have any hands-on, performance-based tasks.

From my own experience, KCNA was fairly straightforward. I went through James Spurin’s Udemy course. Then got CertBoosters practice test which helped me comprehend the concepts clearly and covered everything I needed. After finishing that, I scheduled the exam and passed without much trouble.

KCSA, on the other hand, is a bit more challenging. Knowing Kubernetes security concepts in detail and being familiar with abbreviations made a big difference.

For preparation, I’d recommend checking out KodeKloud (Mumshad Mannambeth’s material) since it’s well structured and gives you a solid foundation. Anshul’s Udemy course is also good for security-focused content. I personally found CertBoosters practice test to be very helpful, it give me an idea of how questions related to RBAC and network policies are asked in the exam.

Overall, KCNA should be very manageable with a good video course and practice test, while KCSA requires more focused study on security fundamentals. Both are definitely achievable with the right prep. Good luck with your learning journey and the exams!
