Run script and request root password

hi everyone. Ok i have a question to ask. I have a .sh script written for kdialog. The file runs fine when i run it through terminal as root. I'm only requesting root privileges so i can install a .deb file. I have wget setup to download the file but I'd love to know if there's a way to get the script to ask me for the root password to install said .deb file? To be honest this question doesn't make full sense to me but i thought I'd ask anyway.

    Hi @theyikes

As mentioned before, the forum for this course is not active, as the course has been discontinued. If your question is related to a Linux Foundation training course, please post in the appropriate forum. If it's not related to a course, but there is a community related forum, please post accordingly.

  • I should clarify when i run the .sh from a terminal it looks for a password. but id' like to be able to run t by double clicking on the actual script file.
