Is kube-aws outdated?

When seraching for kube-aws, there is only one repository with the latest commit being 3 years old:

https://github.com/kube-aws/kube-aws/commits/master

Is this tool outdated or superseeded by eksctl?

  At the first glance it looks like it was forked from another repo - https://github.com/kubernetes-retired/kube-aws which is also retired already, hence its not good idea to use it further, until unless the maintainer doesn't continue supporting it.
