Hi all guru,

Please help me, im newbie. im doing and creating a file server using ubuntu distro. but i was stuck with the managing a disk. I had 80gb and im asking how to manage 80gig in a file server.

Please help me and give me info...

    I am sorry but I don't understand what you are asking. Are you asking how to managing sharing the data from the hard disks?

    or are you asking how to partition your 80GB hard drive on an ubuntu intsall if you plan on running the operating system as a file system?

    sorry for wrong grammer.. This is what i mean sir how much partition do i need to install a file server. I used to have 80gb and distro i like to use is Ubuntu sir?

    If it is going to be an ubuntu based file server then I recommend at least 10 gig for ubuntu, the apps, libraries and user files. Then you can allocate as much additional space as you want to house the shared files for the fileserver.
