To code for lab 2.1 do I need to download vscode to ubuntu or do I code through my terminal?

    I'm not sure what you are talking about. in LFS207 Lab 2.1 there is nothing that involves an editor, just a couple of commands to run in a terminal, which you can bring up by clicking right on the destkop, or various other means. Do you have the right course? In general you can use vscode for editing files or you can use vi, emacs, nano, gedit -- you can use any texteditor. But for working at the command line you certainly don't need vscode
