Lab1 issue (configure_undercloud.yml:51 fails)

Dear LFS2764 class forum community,

While executing Lab1 of LFS264: OPNFV Fundamentals training I stumbled upon a problem that is blocking my progress: I can create the required VM with 8 vCPUs, 52GB memory and 300GB HDD using an OPNFV Euphrates 5.1 image. I can also manage to login to the VM instance but running the Apex deploy command eventually leads to a failure, as it looks like the undercloud deployment configuration fails (log details below) and i dont even get the point where the overcloud can be deployed.

Since the Lab1 instruction does not cover this scenario (only when the overcloud fails), I wonder if you could help me finding out what is going wrong and how to correct it?

BR /Roberto

    The engineering team that created the lab is looking into this.

    You will need to update the undercloud image and then retry the OPNFV install again.

    This happens due to issue https://jira.opnfv.org/browse/APEX-565

    $ sudo -i

    $ cd /opnfv

    $ nohup ./update_undercloud_yumrepo.sh &

      tail the nohup.out and check if we see the below message.

       Successfully downloaded the file  XXX

     Now we can execute opnfv-clean and then deploy opnfv

    $ opnfv-clean

    # Again redeploy opnfv as per the user guide.

  • Hi akapadia,

    thanks for your fast response and providing a solution. I can confirm that, with the steps listed above to update the undercloud image, the deployment of both undercloud and overcloud is now successfull and I get the expected outcome as described in the Lab1 document (i.e. Apex deployment complete).
