Is it really smtp or you meant ntp:

systemd-timesyncd:

An smtp client is only included in the systemd package (/etc/systemd/timesyncd.conf)

?

  Thank you for noticing this,  yes, it should be: 

  A NTP clinet only, is included in the systemd package.
