Filesystem choice for large storage

I have approx 600TB of fibre attached disk on multiple

linux servers.  We are using a commercial filesystem

product.  We are planning on doubling this storage and

are considering alternative filesystems.  Crash recovery

(or fsck) times plays a major concern in this decision.

I have been looking at xfs but don't really get a feel for

recovery times, due to my small test bed.

 

I am interested in reader's opinions/suggestion as to

filesystem choices for this amount of storage,

    Well, I don't know what file system your fiber storage is using, perhaps it has recovery capabilities you are looking for. XFS as well as EXT filesystems have mechanisms in place to handle recovery procedures and decreased access time. However, there is too much information circuling filesystems and when to choose one other another. 

    This article has an interesting benchmark on the current filesystem available for GNU/Linux today.
