Hi all I'm new to the Linux environment but have always been interested in it. We recently upgraded the family computer so I want to us our old 32 bit pentium 4 desktop to try to learn the Linux OS. I'm having trouble locating a diatro download that is actually bootable from CD/DVD. I had one work to a point (slitaz-live) it is not what I really wanted but I was trying anything. I really don't want to keep making copies of images that are not bootable. I found a program to verify the the ISO is bootable or not and spent last night download different distro's only to be frustrated. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The major determinant is the amount of RAM (memory) you have. Do you know how much is installed.

Have a look at the LiveCD List. All of these disks are bootable. https://livecdlist.com/purpose/desktop/

Sorry it's been so long. I have been able to make bootable USB drives alot easier and I really prefer this way so convenient. Thanks for the advice!
