LXLE vs Lubuntu

I'm trying to find a good Linux distro to run on my Acer Aspire One netbook. I have tried Lubuntu, Mint XFCE, xubuntu, and I am currently trying LXLE. I like that LXLE has more software with the initial install, but it does not seem to run as quickly as Lubuntu.
Lubuntu though seems to kind of stripped down. I am trying to decide which to install on my HDD. If anyone has a suggestion, I am just looking to do the install once, and am trying pick the best feature full version that will still run well on this little laptop.

I like LXLE too.
If you are trying these from a CD or USB stick they will run slower than if they were installed on the Hard Drive.
You have discovered that a lightweight desktop with some heavyweight apps ceases to be lightweight.
Have a look at http://www.everydaylinuxuser.com/2013/10/12-great-linux-operating-systems-for.html (Crunchbang has ceased and gone two ways Bunsenlabs and Crunchbang++).
You could try installing a minimal LXDE. Look at https://www.maketecheasier.com/build-lightweight-linux-for-low-end-laptop/ . If you use lxde-core instead of lxde you get less unnecessary apps. Or, in Ubuntu https://l3net.wordpress.com/2014/12/30/lightweight-ubuntu-lxde-desktop-from-scratch/0 -
I definately recommend manjaro fluxbox
it has everything you need out of the box using just below 300mb Ram and is super fast and looks beautiful
