edited March 2013 in Games

Zoftilo Voice Chat client and server, will be released for Linux (and other desktop OS). It's a VOIP communication client/server solution for gamers and people collaborating in any project. It will be free for personal usage.

We will soon be launching a crowd funding campaign on indiegogo. Those interested in this project, are very welcome to help us spread the word.

Update: Campaign is launched at http://igg.me/at/Zoftilo/x/2492701

The goal with Zoftilo is to enable a smooth way to voice chat over multiple platforms. If this is not the correct forum for this post, please move or remove. I thought this might be interesting to Linux gamers.

I guess it would be worth looking at when it's released. I would like to see more technical info.

    Ok, a small update.

As planned we can now read input in the background for “Push to Talk” when Zoftilo window is minimized. It seems to work fine for both Linux and windows clients. It’s nice when things goes as planned =) Time for some bug testing on this.

We also started working on more channel functions, as well as remote admin controls for creating new channels etc. This will take some time though.

Remind me to take some screen shots with Mac OS X version for the next update.

    Noise Reduction

Low and High Pass filters is now in place. Users can enable/disable, set Cutoff Frequency and Resonance. The resulting sound quality is really nice.

Looks interested, can't wait! Little note, maybe add video chat. That is completely up to you as you may not even think you want your software to have it. Will it be open source? I hope so :/
