After installing kernel 4.0, gui interface not loading

Has anyone tried to install the latest kernel 4.0 and was successful? I installed it, but had to uninstall because server x was not loading. I am using Linux Mint. The desktop would not start, even after running command 'startx'. There is screen availabe but the new kernel is not finding it. It seems to be some configuration problem. Anyone know? Thanks.

    Which system are you using 32-bit or 64-bit one?
