I have several computer type thingies running Linux at work and home, but here is my main home box, a DIY PC. Prepare to be underwhelmed:

    Abit BX6 Mobo
    Intel Celeron 366 MHz
    512 MB SDRAM
STB / NVidia RIVA TNT 16MB
    Linksys NC100 10/100 NIC
    Promise FastTrak66 IDE Controller
    6X/24X Creative DVD Reader
    48X LG CD/RW
    Various IDE HDDs:
    No Audio

...and this is the "fast" one...
  • I run a lot of VM on my desktop, so it's a little bigger than the one you have:

    AMD Quad core Phenom
    8GB DDR2
    4x250GB SATA drives

I run Ubuntu Jaunty with VMWare server and can happily have 5 or 6 VM's running concurrently (with database workloads etc).

My laptop is loaded with Karmic.

I usually install some version of Fedora. As far as Release version goes, I currently have an FC3/Mythbox, FC5, FC6, and F8 box. If I need a server OS, I used CentOS.
